ShotRadar Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 25, 2026

ShotRadar is an iPhone app that guides you through taking photos of another person. This policy explains what data the app and its server handle, why, and the choices you have. In short: you don't need an account, there are no ads or trackers, and the photos you take stay on your phone.

Photos you take

Live guidance (the outline, arrows and beeps) runs on your phone. Photos you take with ShotRadar are saved only to your own photo library and are not uploaded.

Images sent for AI features

The app asks for your permission before it sends anything to AI, and you can turn this off at any time in Settings → AI & Privacy. When you use an AI feature, the app sends the image that feature needs to our server: a scene photo for shot ideas, a reference photo you choose to recreate, a few viewfinder frames for pose and background tips while you shoot, and the inputs for an AI preview image.

Our server forwards these images to Google's Gemini API to produce the result, then returns it to your phone. We do not keep these images on our server after the request finishes and do not use them to build profiles or train models. Google processes them under the Gemini API terms for paid services, which do not allow Google to use them to improve its products.

Identifiers and account

On first launch the app creates a random ID, stored in your iPhone's Keychain. It is sent with each request so the server can keep your credit balance. It is not linked to your name, email, phone number or advertising ID.

If you choose Sign in with Apple, we receive Apple's anonymous user identifier for this app and link it to your credit balance so it follows you to a new phone. We do not ask for or store your name or email address.

What our server stores

Payments

Credit packs are sold through the App Store. Apple handles payment; we never see your card or Apple ID details.

What we don't do

No ads, no analytics or tracking SDKs, no selling or sharing of personal data, and no tracking across other companies' apps or websites. The app does not use your location.

Where data is processed

Our server runs on Amazon Web Services in the United States. Google may process AI requests in its data centers in other countries. Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS).

Deleting your data

In the app, open Settings → Account and tap "Delete My Data" (or "Delete Account" if you signed in with Apple). This removes your credit balance, usage records, purchase records and sign-in link from our server, and the app starts over with a new random ID. Unused credits are lost. To ask for a copy of your data, email us.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or California law), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data and to object to its processing. Email us and we will respond within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

ShotRadar is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

Changes

We will update the date above when this policy changes, and announce significant changes in the app.
